"It Takes A Village"

My heart sank this morning when I learned from Facebook that my sweet friend of "forever" lost her home in a house fire.  Time flashed back to the late 70s when the Burkhalter family of 5 lost everything the same way.    One minute all is normal and the next you have nothing.  No clothes.  No toothbrush.  No furniture.  No photos.  No nothing.   Every material thing from your whole life is just gone.  The ONE thing you always remember in times like this is "the village" (as Pam calls it) that has your back.   The people that are always there.   When our home burned our FAMILY OF FIVE moved into a THREE bedroom with Mike, Jane, Pam, and Tracy ARBAN for months.   They made sure that our needs were met because that's just what we do.   Pam and Jimmy have nothing and they won't ask because that's just who they are.  Please share this link and ask others to do the same.
