Walking With The Wayuu Documentary

La Esperanza is a community in La Guajira, Colombia. This is a community with more than 32 families that had no easy access to water. In December 2016, NuevaLife with the help of Hyatt Hotels donated a windmill to pull water from the ground and store it in a concrete tank. Since then, the community has been able to plant corn, watermelon, plantain, cassava and even an egg farm. In November 2017 NuevaLife returned to install a protection crop fence and planted 1 acre with them. Now, phase 3 of the project is to build a community center that will not only serve La Esperanza, but also all other communities around. The purpose of the center is to have an appropriate space for workshops related to agriculture, veterinary, business management, etc. Our purpose is help these communities become sustainable and independent. We are building a center that will teach them to lead their own projects and manage their own ideas. Also, the center will serve as a lodge for volunteers from all parts of the world who would like to visit the community to learn from the Wayuu culture and leave a powerful, inspiring and positive footprintToday we are collecting $3500 that will cover the expenses of a volunteer that will provide his professional expertise in photography and videography to document the story so we can better tell the story. THANK YOU!!
