We are the Rites of Passage Program located in Stamford, CT.
We are raising money for our students, who participate in a 14 week academic program relative to the African American Slave Trade, travel to West Africa.
The money will be used to assist these students in a culminating trip to Ghana in Africa. Our students experience what they have learned in class, the experience of a different culture, along with providing community service.
We need these funds by May 15, 2016.
We have taken this journey 9 out of the 10 years of this program. Over 77% of our students continue on to secondary education, and our first class is now employed, with some continuing their education. The change we see in our students comes in the classroom first, with an amazing academic program, and then in Africa where they are changed forever.
We are thankful to all our contributors, as this journey would not be possible without everyone's dedication to our children.
