5 week old Kittens need our help!

Tax deductible
On 9/11/18, 4 little, 5 week old kittens, came into our rescue from a kill shelter in S IL.  They were scheduled to be euthanized that day, if they didn't make the trip on the transport truck, but we couldn't let this happen.   The kittens were in very bad shape when they arrived;  flea ridden, emaciated and weak.  Our foster home named these precious kittens; Luna, Lexa, Monty and Niylah.  3 sisters and 1 brother.

Right after transport, the little siblings went to our vet to be checked over and they confirmed that they were pretty thin, small and needed extra attention.  Thankfully, we had the perfect foster home for them!  They were bathed and fleas were removed.  Special food was made for them so they could easily eat.  They were all doing great.... until.....

On Friday, 9/14/18, Luna (all black kitten) was rushed to the Emergency Vet.  Her glucose level had crashed to just barely over 20 and she was starting to have seizures.  After 6 hours of tests and supportive care, we made the hard decision to let her go.  She was not responding to the supportive care, nor was she able to accept the care and get better.  She was suffering at this point, which none of us wanted for sweet Luna.

On Saturday, 9/15/18, the remaining 3 kittens were playing, eating, purring and drinking.  Everything seemed to be going fine.... until....  Lexa (black and white kitten) collapsed.  She was rushed to the Emergency Vet where they quickly started supportive care and testing on her.  Her glucose was so low that they couldn't even get a reading!  After a few very long and scary hours, Lexa was responding to the care and started to get stronger.  She spent the weekend fighting for precious life.  She was released this morning!

The remaining 3 kittens were all checked over again today at our vet and were given fluids, etc.  We are hoping and praying that they continue to do well and thrive with the excellent care their foster family has been providing them.  Foster family is literally up every 2 hours to check on them, making sure they eat and drink, bottle feed them, set up a warming station for them and more.  All kittens should be this lucky to receive this type of care!

As you can imagine, the costs associated with the visits to the Emergency Vet and also to our regular vet, have been pretty monumental to our small rescue, all in just 6 days of being in rescue.  As of today, our vet bills are about $1800 for their care.  They are all on prescription food now, which as most of you know, is quite costly.   We pray that nothing else happens to the family of 3, as we don't know how we will be able to afford additional care.

We are asking for donations towards their vet bills and for their continued care.  Your donations will go directly to their care.   Please help us to be able to care for this little family of 3!

Thank you in advance for your help!
