The Girls Room, Non-Profit

My name is Briara Lowery, I am a 22-year-old college student studying to get my B.A. in Communications at Southern New Hampshire University. I remember being an adolescent and feeling like I wasn't enough. Wasn't smart enough, or pretty enough. Due to society today, women are portrayed more as sexual objects than intellectual beings. On January 31st, 2016 I️ decided to change that. When I created The Girls Room it was my vision to change the lives of young girls. My wish has come true. My most current project is working with 30 beautiful 5th and 6th grade girls at Ethel Allen Elementary School. We plan on having a “Tea Party Winter-land” on February 2nd, 2018 and other fun school trips. However, with the Philadelphia School District being so underfunded we are relying on the people in our communities to help.
