Help Lola Beat Stage 4 Breast Cancer
Hello friends, family, admirers and supporters of Lola. My name is Monisha I am humbly coming to you on behalf of my Mom, best friend and kindest person I know Lola. Lola was diagnosed with breast cancer in Dec of 2015. She went through a double mastectomy including lymph node removal. Her progress and recovery looked promising as she was in remission until most recently. In October 2017 while returning back to bed Lola passed out and hit her head on a sharp corner of her bed frame and lost consciousness for some time. She had a brief hospital stay but the doctors stated she was fine and all tests pointed in a positive direction. No sign or spread of Cancer or anything of a more serious nature that we should be worried about. My family breathed a sigh of relief but still felt something was a miss because of her most recent weight loss and the fall. She visited with her regular doctor a few weeks later who ordered a body scan/CT scan to follow up on her progress. On November 16, 2017 Lola was given the news that the breast cancer has spread to her Liver and bones now at Stage 4. At this time she is not able to work as she always has because she is receiving weekly aggressive chemo treatments. Unfortunately this is not enough. Her HMO insurance is only covering the minimum and more treatment uncovered by insurance is needed. Those of you who know Lola or my family knows it is very difficult for us to ask for any assistance. We would find any other means than ask for help, But we feel as though we are running out of options. This is my moms health and We will do anything to get her the best care because she is the family matriarch, a beloved sister, friend, aunt, compadre, mother in law and my reason to keep going most days. We are humbly asking for donations to help with medical costs and additional treatments not covered by her insurance. Thank you in advance for all the positive thoughts and uplifting that has been shown to the Robbins family as we continue to fight this horrendous disease with Lola.+ Read More
