GREAT DANE RESCUE

All of my Dane friends near and far know that my passion is my dogs, I love all dogs but the Great Dane in particular.
We currently have no Dane Rescue  here in the Las Vegas area. We have several blanket rescues, that have no clue how  to train or treat or even correct health and behavioral issues or medical problems common to our breed.
We have had a large number of DROP AND GOES already this year.. Recently I got a call about two danes tiesd to a mile marker on I95, I was in the area and ended up with two danes in the back of my SUV with burnt pads and broken blood vessels in their eyes from straining to get away.
We have had danes abandoned at the Springs Preserve and even tied up at night in our dog parks and abandoned. I have even woke to the sound of
barking and had one tied to my front door.
Currently we have a few rescues in town that try to help and we have two shelters one is a no kill and the other is a regular housing shelter for 7-10 days. The issue we have is that not a single shelter or rescue here is firmiliar with the medical issues or behavioural issues of a Great Dane.
Those of us in the breed, know the importance of breed knowledge and the right things to look for in a prospective dane owner. The key to a succeful rescue is to make sure that the Right fit is found for both the family and the dane so that they become a family.
Currently on my own dime, I  foster or help rescue 4-6 danes a month, ranging from puppies to adult. We have had special needs dogs and multiple dog situations and I have managed to place these lost babies in forever homes.
Having become ill myself and having rescued a dog that brought an illness  with him, I can no longer house the rescues with my dogs. so we have made some decisions and are starting a rescue of our own.
We have the 501c3 status paperwork filed and have been in contact with some corprations for donations and funding. The donations of material things haev come together in a matter of days.
We have two local feed stores that are donating the indoor kennels and bedding,  two major home repair stores donating the outside kennels and an airconditioning unit.We have three brand name dog food companies willing to  each donate 3 pallets of dog food for the first year to start us off ( thats a pallet a month). We have a vocational school here in Las Vegas that will rotate each week a student from their vet tech classes to work on an unpaid OJT (On the job training). Two local vets that I use have graciously donated the vaccines and physicals for 8 dogs per month, and will give as 25% discount to our adoptees and a 75% off for all spay and nueter's.
Our local Tough Shed company has agreed to donate one of its repossed 12'x  24'  insulated sheds ( likeness pictured below) if we can match the cost ( they dont want any money they just want to make sure we are serious). The cost for the shed with delivery and set up will be $3556.00 so we need to come up with that amount. It such a small amount to help rescue the poor babies that we helped bring in to this world that are now left alone.
We have applied for three grants for the running of the rescue. They arnt very much only $1500.00 per grant but every bit helps. every dollar , every five dollars, ten or twenty. Please help if you can, if you cant please spread the word.
The deadly heat of the Las vegas summer is bearing down on us and  I dont want to have to see anymore dead or abandoned danes in my city. In the last 18months I have placed 32 Danes in homesfrom Reno to Las vegas adn helped get numerous more out of the shelters. I have notasked for help from anyone in doing this, but together we can save these innocent dogs ....
