In Honor Of Our Dad, Joe A. Sanchez

Donation protected
On August 26, 2017 our dad suffered a massive stroke at the age of 46. Due to a Medicaid/Medicare hold, he had to be transferred to a nursing facility in San Antonio. During his time there, despite not having any therapy, our dad was able to communicate with his hands, clean his face, and hug and kiss his loved ones all on his own. 3 weeks after he arrived in San Antonio, our dad fell ill and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors explained that his peg feeding tube dislodged and there was fluid in his abdomen. He had to undergo surgery to remove soft tissue around the site his feeding tube was, and for three weeks would receive his nutrients through his IV until he was able to receive another peg feeding tube. On October 28, 2017 while the nurses were repositioning him, his peg feeding tube site started to bleed and he was rushed to the hospital. A week later the doctors explained that they have exhausted every option and it would be in our dad’s best interest to make him comfortable. He was put on hospice care on November 4, 2017 and is on his way to be with our lord and savior. This is the hardest time our family has ever endured, and the worst our dad has faced. Our dad would make friends with anyone he met, and will be missed terribly. He leaves behind 7 children, 7 grandchildren, along with his wife, mother and father. All we want is to honor our dad the way he wanted, and to keep his love going for our family. Any donation would be greatly appreciated to help us honor him. Thank you and God bless.
