LVMPD-Nicky Memorial Fund K9 Vests

Donation protected
Nicky, an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois, who is a hero K9 with LVMPD, was killed in the line of duty when his human partner, Sgt. Eric Kerns, was involved in a confrontation with an armed man about noon on Thursday, March 31, 2016.

Nicky had just returned to duty on March 8, after almost a month recuperating from severe injuries inflicted by a
violent suspect wielding a machete on another previous mission.

Las Vegas Metro Police Department doesn't have in its budget enough money to get everything it needs, including kevlar vests for their K9 officers, which would have saved this hero K9 officer's life.

There are 31 dogs remaining, after losing Nicky.
You can meet them here:  http://www.lvmpdk9.com/meet-lvmpd-k9-unit/

They need our help to protect them as they continue to protect us.

Kevlar vests fora each K9 cost about $2,250.

We are going to try to get vests for all dogs, inlcluding whomever replaces Nicky, which would cost about $72,000.

Any extra funds raised will be donated to Metro for their general purposes.
