Hey Everyone,
Most of you know Mom has been battling pancreatic cancer for quite some time now. She was diagnosed early 2014 after they removed her gallbladder and came across the tumor. It has been an overwhelming whirl of emotions and struggles. She has been through countless treatments of chemo & radiation, medications, surgeries, more chemo, etc.
Now the cancer has spread to her lungs. They’re starting her new treatment with 3 months of chemo and they will test again from there.
The expenses are racking up… my mom owes the hospital $28,000, and she owes the oncologist $1,800. The numbers are overwhelming, and they only keep adding up.
In order for my mom to receive chemo, she must pay $50 before each session.
This is just to give an idea of monthly expenses…
$200 a month for chemo injections.
$50 for the pills that help her digestion after the whipple surgery.
$20 Blood thinners
$20 Heartburn
$20 Antidepressants
$20 for Anti Nausea (Chemo makes you incredibly nauseous)
$20 pain medications (Mom has constant pain)
$20 for anxiety
$20 anti diarrhea (Another side effect of chemo)
White Blood cell shots
She also has to see the gastro and vascular doctors regularly which adds up.
We’re not the type of family that loves to spill all of our troubles out into the world, so this is difficult for us. But during this time we’re not really sure what else to do. Seriously, any little bit helps. A dollar helps. Sharing this link helps! I can’t thank everyone enough for the kindness they’ve shown us in the past. The $6,000 we raised last time was a huge help to my family and we couldn’t be where we are now without your help.
Because the numbers are so huge and keep adding up, I’m asking for $4,000 right now like last time. If we view this in smaller goals it’ll make it easier.
