Save The Dexter!

My name is Bailey, and the brown dog you see is Dexter. He is about 4-5 years old and has the sweetest soul. His best friend Kavi has severe anxiety, and he is her rock. Cuddling, food, and ball are life. He got very sick, very fast. Between a few different veterinarians (including an overnight ER trip), we are pretty sure he has Evans Syndrome/Disease. Long story short, his white blood cells/immune system is attacking his red blood cells and platelets. He has gone through two blood transfusions, been on a handful of steroids and immunosuppressive medications. His fight is still rough, but we are fighting hard for him. We understand that if he makes it through all of this, he will be on medication for the rest of his life. He will also be at risk for needing more transfusions down the road. We are looking for help to mitigate these initial costs to figure out what is wrong with him and to get him stable. He's such a sweet guy, and he's one of my babies. It hurts my heart to see him like this, and we are doing everything we can to give him that chance.
