The Bingham High School "B" has been a part of Salt Lake Valley's Oquirrh Mountains since 1927. It is located near the birthplace of Bingham High School in Bingham Canyon Utah. A town that no longer exists due to the ever expanding open pit copper mine. BHS students, alumni and friends have started a project raising funds to purchase lights and wiring to light this important part of Utah history. It would be a part of future celebrations over yet another Bingham High School accomplishment. The owners of the land on which the "B" was built, Kennecott Rio Tinto, have agreed to continue to allow students to annually maintain the 100' by 80' monument. An access road was built for maintenance purposes. And the owners have even agreed to install the conduit and lights and even provide power from the nearby concentrator facility. Over 40-thousand students have graduated from Bingham High School since it opened its doors in 1908.We want as many of those graduates as possible, and others, to know of this project and to help make the 90 year old "B" Our B Forever- both day and night.
