Little Engine Needs Your Help!
Donation protected
Little Engine Academy has been serving Durham families since 2008 by providing nurturing and engaging child care to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a caring and communal setting. We were excited to be able to purchase our well-loved facility in 2014 and always had plans to raise the dilapidated house adjacent to our facility. Recently, we’ve been told by the City of Durham Department of Neighborhood Improvement Services that we have sixty days to tear down this adjacent abandoned house, which is a substantial project that requires a considerable amount of funding. The project consists of removing the structure as well as three outbuildings and its contents. We’ve received a quote of $25,000 to complete the entire project.
We are reaching out to our families, friends, and community as a last resort. We seek your help in raising the funds necessary to complete this project, so that we can continue to provide a caring and nurturing early childhood program for our children to thrive.
If you feel in your heart that you are able to give any amount -- no matter how small or big, we greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for your consideration. We are so grateful.
