Hello, My name is Carlos Rodriguez, I’m from Houston(Humble), Texas.
My family and I are victims of Hurricane Harvey. We are a family of 6 with 4 dogs and thanks to the coast guard evacuating us in time we are all alive and unharmed - thank God - but our home got hit pretty bad. It's completely flooded and the entire first floor was submerged and everything we own has been damage or destroyed.
I've never done this before but my Mom and Dad are devastated and I love them so much, so I'm asking for your help.
The insurance already denied us coverage and we urgently need help to rebuild the first floor starting with the walls and flooring, carpeting, doors and appliances. We have no cars to get to work or school and the insurance may only cover one car loss if any.
We just don't have enough to cover every and do this alone, and after being rescued and staying in a hotel for 3 days with no discounts we're forced to move back into out home even though it's not safe or sanitary. It was infested with water, worms and animals and everything we owned broken and hazardous.
Your donation will give us our lives back! We will have everything we need to continue clearing it out, rebuilding, cleaning and replacing the very basics. You will help us get back to work so we can cover things insurance won't.
We have already received enough funds to replace my sister's school books thanks to the generous donations from kind friends and strangers.
All the money we receive will be used to rebuild our home in the following ways:
We need to tear down the walls and put them up again due to the water getting inside them. The walls are currently bubbling up and starting to crack releasing smells and toxins into the home.
The carpet has been removed and we will also need to add tile to prevent future flood damage. The carpet was completely ruined and full of bugs, worms, and other wastes that got into the home due to the creek (cypress creek)behind our subdivision overflowing.
The entry, back yard, garage, and laundry room door are completely ruined and cracked from different places so we will also need to replace those.
All the furnishings and appliances we will try to buy later this goal is for the essentials and labor to make our home safe and functional.
