Chastity Ethelynn Bedonie, 38, passed from this life on Sunday, September 15, 2013 in Baltimore, MD. She was born August 20, 1975, in Tuba City, AZ, to Timothy and Hilda Greyeyes Bedonie. She was born into the Na'shashii (Enemy Bear) and born for the To'di'chii'nii (Bitter Water).
Chastity attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Farmington, NM. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts degree in Physics from Bryn Mawr College, and her juris doctor from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law. She was a former treasurer of DC's Native American Bar Association and also a Morris K. Udall Native American Congressional Intern.
Chastity pursued a career dedicated to improving the lives of Native Americans. She was passionate about ensuring the government met its obligations to tribal nations and played a vital role in a number of important legislative issues. Thank you to the Department of the Interior and the DC office of the Navajo Nation for hosting the beautiful DC memorial. Chastity had a great sense of humor and loved her family dearly.
