Candace's Cancer Fund

Candace, my wife of 4 years and mother of my two beautiful daughters has been diagnosed with Stage 2a Triple Positive Breast Cancer at the age of 27. 27! Crazy right?

We moved from San Bernardino, CA to seek treatment across the country at Johns Hopkins. Currently, she is facing a mastectomy (possible double), reconstruction and numerous chemo therapies and hormone therapy to combat this.

If you've ever met Candace you'd know that she has one of the best laughs in the world. I'd like to keep hearing that laugh for many years to come. I am truly blessed to have her in my life and have her as the mother of my children. We are trying to keep a optimistic outlook because, well what else are you supposed to do?

Given her age this cancer is extremely aggressive. I want to make sure that she doesn't worry about a  thing. Which is one of the reasons I created this account. Of course, even with insurance we are facing out of pocket medical bills. Many people don't know what it takes to go through something like this and I'm starting to learn that even if you have insurance there are a lot of extra costs to cancer treatment that insurance doesn't cover (certain medications, medical supplies, day care, parking, gas etc). When making multiple trips a week to the doctor, these expenses can add up fast.

Anything you can give will help out. For example, $10 pays for parking for the day. And if you can't give anything please share it with your friends, acquaintances, neighbors and strangers (via facebook, twitter, email, instagram or your social media network of choice)! Just like the expenses, a little bit from a bunch of people will help out greatly.
