Wild Hog Canoe Race Future
Tax deductible
Hello everyone! We would like to thank you for considering our organization for a donation. We took over operation of the Gulf Hammock Wild Hog Canoe Race Organization 6 years ago and have made a lot of progress in fundraising. We have a canoe race as well as several yard sales every year to raise money for LARC (Levy Association for Retarded Citizens). 100% of the money we raise goes to benefit LARC. None of the board members take a penny for the work we do, it is a ministry for us.
With the help of several donors, we were able to buy the property where the race ends and the festivities are held. Without that purchase the canoe race would not have been able to continue. We had a lady who was a $40,000 donor , a year or so later demanded her money back. She had papers served to us to take us to court . Because she got mad at our organization. She demanded full repayment immediately. We only raise around $20k - $23k per year for LARC, so it would require us taking the money we raise for these mentally handicapped people for 2 years and paying her off, which we just can't rightly do. We have taken out a short term loan to satisfy the legal situation and that loan balloons in 3 years. We will be hosting several fundraisers to help raise this money. Will you consider helping us out? Without this property we cannot have the canoe race. Thank you in advance!
