Water from the tap

Donation protected
In March 2016 we signed the purchase of a piece of property, 30 minutes from Amsterdam. Only 50 years ago this land used to be sea. The reclaimed land is still more then 3 meters below sea level, but good dikes protect us from the water. As one can imagine: in the middle of the sea there is no tap! In order to get fresh drinking water we need to invest in utilities. At the moment we are 'in the middle of nowhere' (for the Netherlands at least) so the only way to get water is to invest for the future.

For years we’ve been looking for the right location to live as a small community with our children. We are building a house with a number of guestrooms, which we plan to use as AirBnB rooms. We ended up in Almere,  30 minutes from Amsterdam, where the property price was unbelievably low for the Netherlands. However, this means that we have to build a road, take care of utilities and our house has to be energy neutral. For almost 2 years  now we have been living out of suitcases. It is our dream that by the end of 2018 our home will stand and that we will be able to have fresh water in the house!

With this GoFundMe campaign, we are hoping to raise enough finances to do the work that needs to be done for the utilities.  This will help to pay for things as bringing water into the house, making a  sewage and waste water system, installation of taps, toilets and shower.

Thank you in advance for those of you who want to help us "to get water from the tap" in our house!  We are grateful for you!

We want to have a solid foundation - therefore we needed to have 16 poles of more then 78 feet!

Deciding on the 'pole position'

The poles are in, now the water!
