http://www.red-skin-syndrome.com/ Roughly a year ago my daughters decent into hell started . Due to childhood eczema doctors had basically over the years overdosed her skin with steroid . Most doctors do not except responsibility for the condition they create . We are very lucky to have our dermatologist on our side., most people are not so lucky.
RED SKIN SYNDROME (RSS) .TOPICAL STEROID ADDICTION (TSA) and TOPICAL STEROID WITHDRAWAL.(TSW)
Basically if you stop using steroid cream then the skin begins to blister and scab and weep. It burns stings , and itches like crazy then flakes off, sleep comes few and far between if at all.
Right now she is going through steroid withdrawal It will take between 7 months and four years to recover . Most of what she needs to cope with this condition has to come from our own pockets.
Every day I watch my beautiful girl suffer . This week she had to cut off her gorgeous long hair to help cope with TSW as it effects every part of the head and body legs and feet and hands, face , it also cause the eyebrows to fall out. During skin flares which can last for weeks life is very difficult , time is spent mostly in bed or the bath or sitting /sleeping in the garden just to cool the skin down.. When a flare is over life and mobility become a little easier , the redness calms down and sleep becomes easier but unfortunately that only lasts a few days.
This condition causes allergic reactions to most normal food and some food has to be blended to stop her lips from blistering and she can only wear 100% cotton clothes and bedding,. She cannot wear make up or perfumes and and clothes must be washed without any kind of chemicals.

Before my girl got sick she was working two full time jobs daytime in a hotel and evening as a barmaid ,she was saving hard to travel this big and beautiful world of ours. Tayla is a huge lover of nature and Mother Earth and is an amazing photographer She was going to buy an old van and do it up to make it mobile and liveable then she would start on her journey. All the money she saved has now gone because of this condition , creams, oils, special foods, clothes, bathing salts, clays, everything has to be natural as chemicals irritate her skin., none of these things are cheap or on prescription.
I would like to help raise money to buy the van or maybe get some traveling money behind her for when she finally recovers. This journey has been the toughest of her life and it's far from over I would love for her to have something to look forward to.
Tayla is an amazingly beautiful girl inside and out and I just want her to be well again. It breaks my heart.
Each day my girl tries to smile through the pain and discomfort , she is a warrior as are all the other people suffering from this excruciating condition.
