49er Sailing Team - Winter Training

€667 of €5,000 goal

We're aiming for the Olympics 2020 in Japan but we are looking for funding for overseas winter training 2017 due to the icy conditions in Sweden!

Fabian Bergman (helmsman), 18, and Hugo Christensson (crew), 17, live in Stockholm, Sweden, and have been sailing in the Olympic 49er class for 8 months representing Sweden.

Since then we have developed hugely and are now competing on a similar level as Olympic sailors who have raced in the 49er a lot longer. We are both committed and experienced in the sport as this is our passion.

Before we transitioned into the Olympic 49er class, Fabian competed on an elite level in the Optimist and 29er class, being one of the top teams internationally, whilst Hugo finished 3rd at the 420 World Championships in 2015. Please see our past results further down.

Now we compete together in the Olympic 49er class, the most advanced and fastest boat on the Olympic program. We train several days a week throughout the year individually as well as with other Swedish 49er teams. We are the youngest in the class but have the drive to reach our goal: the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020! What we need is funding, in order to participate in international events, training abroad with other teams, as well as a well-equipped boat.

Due to the coming ice in Stockholm, we are unable to train during the winter and therefore plan our winter training in Cadiz, Spain together with other 49er teams with a regatta in Palma Mallorca in the end of March before transporting the boat back to Stockholm. We would very much like to be able to get as much training as possible before the regatta.

Any financial support is very much appreciated! To show our appreciation, we will offer the following:

€50+: Sticker to pimp your car to show that you are a supporter of Bergman/Christensson 49er Sailing Team

€100+: High resolution framed picture of Bergman/Christensson 49er Sailing Team! + Sticker

€1000+: Large high resolution framed picture of Bergman/Christensson 49er Sailing Team and an opportunity to test the boat and train with us! + Sticker

€5000+: Become our main sponsor with highly visible logos in our sails! + much more. Contact us for more information on how we can promote and help your company.
