Help Terry Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Terry Gentry Morphet has devoted her life to raising her five children and spreading kindness to everyone she meets. Early this year, she noticed pronounced back pain. Bone lesions caused two fractures in her pelvis. A bone biopsy revealed the source. Terry, who has always eaten healthy and never smoked, had stage IV lung cancer.
THE DIAGNOSIS
Everything became worse when she showed strange stroke-like symptoms. My dad rushed her to the emergency room.
On May 8, 2018, my dad told us the news:
"Your sweet mom has a one-inch tumor and several small tumors in the brain, a four-inch tumor in the lungs, and the lesions in the pelvic bone. We fight!"
TREATMENT
My mom immediately began radiation treatment the following morning. She has completed ten treatments of radiation and has just begun chemotherapy. The doctors at McKay Dee Hospital are treating her with Aredia, Alimta, and Carboplatin. Without chemo, the doctor estimates that she has less than six months. Treatment will be performed once every three weeks for eighteen weeks. At nine weeks, another brain MRI will determine its effectiveness. If it is not effective, her decision is to stop chemo.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We are raising money to help pay for her chemotherapy treatment. The six cycles of treatment over eighteen weeks cost $47,000.
My mom does not know about this help she will be receiving. We want to surprise her. We know that she never asks for anything and we want her to know how valued she is. We believe that this will not only ease the financial burden, but show her how important she is. Nothing helps someone more than feeling loved.
Terry Gentry Morphet, our beautiful mother, we love you so much!
