Help Val get home

Val came to Massachusetts to find a home to call her own after she was retired as a racing greyhound. She is young, just two years old. Val is what would be referred to as a spook. That doesn't mean anything bad happened to her it is just who she is. Val warms up to woman pretty quickly but is absolutely petrified of men. We had a great family that took her home to see how she would work out with their older greyhounds and she did great with them and the wife. Once the husband tried to make friends with Val she plastered herself into a crate and wouldn't come out. They knew Val was very unhappy and so they did the right thing and brought her back so she could find a home where she would be happy and not fearful all the time. After posting on Facebook what Val was like a second greyhound family came along and wanted to try and work with her. Val again met their greyhound and the woman, who came multiple times and Val started to warm up to them. The woman's husband came to meet her and Val wouldn't leave the adoption kennel. Well we knew it was going to be a woman only home for Val in order for her to be happy. We are excited because that home has come along for her. A previous adopter of ours, who has always adopted our greyhounds who needed a home the most is going to adopt Val. It is a quite home with other greyhounds, no men and a lovely fenced in yard. The only catch is the home is in Minnesota and one of our volunteers is going to take Val to her new home. We are asking for donations to help with gas and lodging while our volunteer drives her out to Minnesota.
