Get Aurora to Graduation

Thank you for taking the time to read my story,

I've just finished a bachelors degree at University College Dublin in Ireland. I am a mature student, which is 24 or over and an International student, which has made my time at UCD just a bit more complicated. I turned 24 last year so I was no longer eligible for the federal loans I needed for my education and what I did receive was the standard amount that was not enough to cover my tuition. I have completed my degree, passed all my classes with a 3.6 GPA but if I don't pay the remaining tuition by September I don't get to graduate. I'm already in massive debt for the money put into my education so far (nearly 70k) and it's heartbreaking that a few thousand will throw all of that away. After being denied personal loans, Sallie Mae, credit cards, etc, I've decided to turn to GoFundMe.

A Bit About Me:

Raised as an only child, my mom worked hard to give me as much as she could. I excelled in high school with my grades, graduated National Honours Society and received 3 Varsity Letters in sports. I received my Associates Degree from Scottsdale Community College in Arizona and moved to Ireland to complete a Bachelors Degree in English and Film. Since I was young I've wanted to work in the film industry and I have spent the majority of my education on film related aspects. My goal is to work in the film industry and create films that people will love. I have worked hard my whole life to become a well rounded young woman and I have taken every opportunity given to me with the utmost appreciation. Getting my degree will allow me to hopefully get a job that will allow to provide a better life for my mom, who gave everything to give me all that she could.

My time at UCD:

Over the past 3 years I have dedicated myself to studying English literature and film at UCD. For my final year I was an editor on the University Observer, which gave me experience in the journalism world. I have been en extra on Into the Badlands, which my incredible film professors allowed me to do when the schedule interfered with college. I have attempted to play rugby, but it was a little to rough for me! I have been involved in campaigns to better the future of students. I have spent the last year interning in the film industry, which was provided to me by my university. I served as a mentor for incoming students. I have learned so much and really cherished my time in Ireland. Most importantly I made incredible friends that accepted me and helped me.

I was awarded a partial scholarship to attend UCD, which helped but unfortunately ,not enough. I really want to graduate with my class and finish what I started.

I need to raise enough for my remaining tuition which is 5,052 euro by August 10th so I can pay the fees in time to graduate.

Any help would be appreciated more than I could ever put into words. I have worked so hard to get a great education and I've done it. I can't even begin to explain how upset I will be to watch my classmates get their diplomas but not myself. That little piece of paper will allow me to start the next chapter of my life and without it.....well. I want to say thank you to everyone who read this, shares this or donates. Any bit helps and every bit matters. Thank you so much.

Love,

Aurora
