Saving Daisy

My son needed a job to do that would help boost his low self esteem, so we had him raise a pig for FFA.  He worked so hard to raise a healthy pig, named Daisy.  He was so proud of his hard work.    William, however, is an extremely sensitive soul and he bonded with Daisy.  Eventually, the realization that his pig would be sold for slaughter began taking a huge toll on him. He’s so sad.  He has vowed to never raise an animal for this purpose again, has legitimately turned vegan, and is now volunteering at the local animal shelter.  This experience enlightened him.  We are now hoping to raise funds to cover the costs of pulling Daisy from auction, transporting her to a no-kill sanctuary, and donating to that sanctuary, to cover some of the cost of her care.  Daisy will live a long, full life!  William also hopes to volunteer there, to help them care for his Daisy and others like her.  We know he will be judged harshly for this decision, by many, but please understand that this is where his heart has taken him and we love and respect him for this.  If you find it in your heart to help him, please donate.  Any amount helps.
