Support Sletter Cook & Family Get Back On Feet

Every morning, Sletter wakes up to care for her sister Marie who is intellectual disabled, and her three great  nephews ( all under 10 years old).  Sletter is the  provider and care giver to all four people, and she carries her responsible with grace. 

The morning of February 12 was no different. She woke up, readied her family (Marie and the boys) and brought them to school. While away, at approximately 9 am, Sletter's home broke out in a fire. One person was taken to the hospital, and it is unclear what caused the fire.

Upon her return to the scene, she found the family home that had been left to her by her mother demolished! Every single thing that one could own is gone. Sletter plus 8 others are not only without a home, clothes, and food, but she also still has the responsible to care for the individuals in her care.

Gratefully, she and the others will be physically okay, however, it will take a while for her and her family to work through the financial , emotional and psychological lost.

Sletter has been my friend for 50 plus years; supporting me and others in the most challenging times. From her heart flows love and kindness. On her behalf, I am asking and encouraging you to donate whatever you can in order to support both her and her family meet their basic human needs.
