Mitzis Medical Care

Most of you who know me and some who don’t know that one of my children has 4 legs. We call her Mitzi. Mitzi is a 14 year old peekapom that I have had since she was 6 weeks old. Many of you have been following her recent medical history and praying for her to heal quickly. She was diagnosed a few months back with Mammary cancer and has an open wound and needs ongoing daily care to ensure that open wound which will never heal remains free of infection. Almost 2 weeks ago Mitzi began walking hunched over and after less than 24 hours she has no use of her limbs. We rushed her to the vet for then to let us know it’s either a herniated disc or its meningitis. We are still trying to figure this out. After three more appointments and now two pain medications (metacalm at 5kg dose and Gabapentin at 50mg twice daily) she is still writing in constant pain and having frequent spasms causing her an enormous amount of discomfort. It’s killing me to see her in so much pain and I’m not ready to let go if this is something that can be fixed. It pains me to ask for financial help but I’m in a situation where sales of furniture has slowed down and the weather is not as co operative so I can’t sand to finish pieces to save money for her medical care as well as end of life care when the time comes. So any donation big or small would help, even sharing the post with your friends means a great deal. For those who pray, please send healing prayers for my baby girl that she can remain pain free for her time left with us. The next step is a set of x-rays that I have been quoted 200$ for plus the consult fee of 60$ and then whatever the cost of medications would be along with saving for end of life costs. She is seen at the Hamlet veterinary hospital in Blackburn hamlet by an incredible vet by the name of dr Vincelette. If anyone would like to see medical bills or quotes please don’t hesitate to ask!
