The Janine Lee Memorial Scholarship

Janine was running a race. She had her first son as a very young woman and her second a few years later. They were the jewels of her life, and she raised them well. As they grew, so did the size of her dreams. She knew the world was waiting for her fingerprints and she decided to channel her passion for learning into law school to become a law professor. When her sons were grown, she gave it everything she had. Even despite 5 painful spinal surgeries, she worked, she studied, and she wrote, and she graduated magna cum laude from UNLV's Boyd School of Law. When her long suffering health problems reappeared, and the pain finally became too much for her to overcome, her race ended. Our family believes that her dream does not have to end with her life. We believe there are women just like our beloved Janine who didn't get the chance to live their dreams. We believe her life's goal was a worthy one, and it can live on through someone who deserves that second chance to live it out.
