Savannah's Stolen Paycheck

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Savannah Meyer. On Friday, June 23, I lost a total of $560 at Safeway in Lakeport, California. I cashed my pay check at the Customer Service kiosk, put the cash in an envelope including my pay stub, and walked over to the deli to get something to eat on my lunch break. I am only given 30 minutes for lunch, and after I had waited a little over 10 minutes, I was in a bit of a hurry. I purchased my food and a cup for a fountain soda, and went to the dispenser. When I tried to pour the soda into my cup, some spilled onto the side of it. Without thinking, I put my enveloped money on the counter so I could rinse off my cup. I then, again without thinking, quickly out the lid on my soda, grabbed my food and left-without my money- and headed back to work.

About 2.5 hours after this disaster of a mistake occurred, it finally dawned on me that I was missing my money. So, I ran to my car, frantically searching, hoping, PRAYING that I would find that money, but the was no envelope. After work, I went back to Safeway to check if possibly the money was still sitting where I had left it, but I had no such luck. To top it off, management looked through the  surveillance cameras, and at the angle it was, they could see me set my money down, but then a rush of customers got in line over there and they couldn't see who had taken it.

Now, normally, I wouldn't even be asking for money, but with this happening, I feel I don't have much choice. I have to pay $300 monthly board for my horse. On top of that, I have $600 rent to pay, which fortunately my boyfriend was able to cover, but even with that covered, we no only have almost $100 between the two of us and we have to make it last until next pay day, which is two weeks from now.

So my request is  $500. I know that times are super tough right now, and I am in no way expecting anybody to donate, but any little bit will help! I work very hard for the money I make and I would never wish this on even my worst enemy.
