Veterans for Cannabis - 100KStrong.net
Your contribution will fund this tour to energize the veterans' community across Florida to propel the movement toward comprehensive cannabis reform! Your generous donation will allow various veterans groups' leaders to meet face-to-face with folks from central Florida to the panhandle. And, if you don't live in Florida, that's OK, effective treatment options, such as cannabis, is a nationwide concern.
The tour plans stops at veterans facilities in Viera, Orlando, Tampa, New Port Richey, the Villages, Gainesville, and Tallahassee. The goal is to wrap up the tour at Eglin Air Force base in Niceville where we will host a picnic for veterans and their families on Sunday, November 10, and participate in the annual Veteran's Day parade on Monday. With so many stops there will be plenty of opportunity to see your donation at work!
The tour is complete; the warriors are home and rested, the thank you notes are ready to send, but the real work had just begun. We need 100,000 veterans active in the battle to change cannabis laws.
The tools are there. What can you do next to engage your brother and sisters in arms in the battle for equal access to cannabis?
We leave no one behind!
A vet in Crestview called. Crestview is the home of the President of the Florida Senate and Chair of the U.S. Committee on Veterans Affairs. He stopped by the local AMVets club and found our materials by the door.
For those of you who have contributed, THANK YOU SO MUCH! We know how critical the voice of wounded veterans is to our work reforming cannabis laws.
I have to tell you though, I am really stressed about going the distance. We've invested over $3,000 of FLCAN general operating and three months of staff time to roll this project out. The rent is paid but the war chest is empty. Today, we need to feed five veterans and two staff people. Put fuel in two vehicles and we are going to cram into two hotel rooms tonight.
We must go on. People are waiting for the chance to talk about this, but equally important we need the VA centers to know they can be on our side! Can you donate $50 to buy lunch for the crew- $200cover the cost of the hotels tonight or $150 to cover a fill up at the gas station? Every dollar helps keep the caravan on the road.
Meet us tonight at Steagles or elsewhere along the route! Ready to tour with us? Fall in when the tour comes near you and stay as long as you can afford.
We still are a long ways for our funding needs and a long ways from Crestview the home of the Chair of the US House of Representatives Committee on Veterans Affairs. Act now, join, engage, demand, defend and contribute to keep the tour on the road!
You'll note we canceled the custom EZ-Up - too late and not enough funds. It was a real shame, they were going to the president of EZ-Up to make sure EZ-Up were okay with a pot logo next to the EZ-Up logo! Would have loved to be a fly on the wall during that conversation!
Our friend, Frank Dougherty picked up the tab for some great promotional pieces and purchased the first 2 dozen shirts so we reduced the need for funding even further.
We need your help to fuel the vehicles, pick-up hotel rooms and make sure we can cover the cost of the tour. If we don't get the money we need, the next thing we have to cancel is Cathy Jordan's participation. Her husband Bob is a veteran and is going to make the tour, but without the funding for Cathy and a caregiver, she simply can not make the trip. Travel is hard for Cathy, travel without her caregiver impossible.
The march is on, join us along the route, follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get regular updates and donate if you can!
Put our vets first!
We need this bad ,we as Veterans suffer the most and no one person in Washington cares .
Best Wishes, Veterans for Cannabis! Thanks for being so brave about the TRUTH.
