Help for Mary

On December 26th, Mary and her family were on their way to grandma’s house to celebrate Christmas. Mary lost consciousness in the vehicle and was subsequently taken to Fauquier hospital. It was determined that she had a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was taken by helicopter to INOVA in Falls Church, VA, where it was determined she suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. A neurosurgeon did several procedures to repair the aneurysm and arteries surrounding it. Over the course of her hospital stay, a team of doctors has run a battery of tests to determine the cause. During one of these tests, a narrowed artery, as well as an additional aneurysm, was found in her right kidney. Multiple procedures were done to repair both of these. She will continue to have tests for the remainder of her stay in ICU, and also when she’s stepped down to intermediate care. These tests will confirm or rule out a diagnosis of fibromuscular dysplasia. But Mary’s journey has only just begun. She’s suffering from a great deal of pain that the doctors are struggling to control as she attempts to transition to intermediate care. Once she is released from intermediate care, she will go to a physical therapy rehabilitation facility to strengthen the weakness she has from the stroke. She will need to relearn how to walk and strengthen the use of her arms.

Up to this point in her journey, she has been unable to see her children. She has spoken to them by phone once. We are hoping within the next several days, she will be able to visit with them for a few moments in person.

At this point, we have no idea when she will be able to return to work. The hospital bills alone will be staggering in addition to paying her monthly bills. After almost a month dealing with these medical issues playing catch up will already be a struggle. If the Lord lays it on your heart, , any financial aide would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Mary’s family
