Young People are at risk of being ignored by MPs on Brexit - Listen Up!
We need YOUR help to make sure that politicians are listening to our generation.
My Life My Say is a youth-led, non-partisan movement on a mission to secure a better Brexit for young people. Whether you voted to Leave, Remain, couldn’t or didn’t vote - you deserve to have a say in the negotiations that will affect you the longest.
That’s why we launched our “Listen Up!” pledge campaign calling on all parliamentarians to pledge to speak to 20 constituents aged under 30 and listen to their views before taking part in critical votes on Brexit this autumn.
The pledge has been organised by a coalition of non-partisan campaign groups including My Life My Say, UK Youth and the British Youth Council, which collectively represent more than four million young people in the UK.
So far, we currently have 37 cross-party parliamentarians who have signed the letter including representatives from Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Plaid Cymru, all pledging to give young people a meaningful voice in the negotiations.
In order to make this a reality, we need your support. We need your help to fund activities that bring together young people and their local MPs, including our innovative Brexit Café events.
We need to raise £10,000 to help connect at least 1,000 young people with their local MPs:
£5 will show your support for the pledge
£20 will help us to package our campaign pack for young participants
£50 will help us to buy a campaign pop-up banner
£100 will help us to increase our social media reach to help connect people with their local MPs
£250 will help us to train young change-makers across the country to empower others
£500 will help us to organise Brexit Cafes across the UK to connect young people with local MPs face-to-face.
Over a million young people who were too young to have a say in the referendum are now eligible to vote, but their voice will not be heard in the most important decision to affect their future lives.
Help us to make sure that their voices are not ignored.
We know what we need to do. We need the funds to do it while we have the time. Please give what you can, and spread the word.
