Zacs Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Many people have asked my sister Joy how they can support her and Zac through this painful health crisis, and besides prayer and encouragement, they are in need of financial support.

Here are the details.

In the first part of 2018, Zac lost 60 pounds without trying. After a full medical workup, he was dismissed by doctors to wait and see if things got worse.

They did.

After the weight loss, came the random fainting spells, absense seizures, episodic narcolepsy, night sweats, random joint pain, the feeling that he was losing his mind, loss of executive function (can't plan or hold on to ideas), and general feeling that things were "off."

On May 15th, almost 3 months ago, Zac was hit with a severe migraine that has not let up. Whether he's asleep or awake, he's in constant pain. He says this averages a 7/10 on the pain scale.

This was just too much and came with sensitivity to light and sound, which meant he could no longer look at a computer screen without an increase in pain. This is when he went on medical leave from work.

If that wasn't bad enough, he was hit with an abdominal migraine over a month ago that also never let up. He describes this as constant stomach pain averaging 7/10 on the pain scale.

Then a week or so after that, he began having nausea and added frequent vomiting to his already long list of symptoms.

The constant mailaise and feeling that his body is actively dieing is his most recent symptom, and unfortunately is also one that never goes away.

After numerous tests at the Mayo Clinic, they found 3 intuscusseptions in his small intestines, which are extremely rare, painful and life threatening.

An intuscusseption is when your small intestine folds into itself.

They are very fortunate and grateful to have been (just yesterday) approved for short term disability, but with the unexpected hotel expenses and medical bills, they are beyond their capacity to stay afloat financially.

Your support means everything to them.

Just as a cold glass of water after a long walk in the heat sends that feeling through your body that all is well in the world, your support to them will be a balm of healing in their time of crisis. It will remind them that they are worth fighting for, and that they are not alone.

Thank you for being a part of their lives and a part of their journey.

Thank you for caring enough about them to be interested in their story.

Thank you for lifting them up in prayer.

Thank you for giving your empathy, encouragement and kindness to them when they are at their lowest.

And lastly, thank you for giving generously to help them through this.

They're eternally grateful.
