Farewell to Jeff
On the recent morning of July 10th, we lost our "Bird Man" Jeffery
Scott McLain, to a sudden massive heart attack. Jeff was our brother,
father, uncle, cousin and dear friend. He had been fighting a disease
that was attacking his muscles and nerves which challenged him
greatly in what we now know were his final years.
Although we will miss him terribly, we will be forever thankful for the
family reunion just weeks before his death which gave us all one more
chance to love and laugh together. That gathering also gave Jeff the
chance to finally meet two of his children who had been absent from his life for almost 20 years.
Jeff was an avid bird enthusiast who rescued and gave safe haven to
many species over the years. Rescuing these magnificent creatures was a passion of Jeff's and he became a very special family member to
others like him throughout the country.
Because Jeff had been unable to work in his final years, he had no
insurance and was left basically a ward of the state of North Carolina.
There will be charges for his cremation and other needs in this final
transformation. We are humbly asking for your help to give Jeff his
final send off. Any contribution will be appreciated and a testament to
those who loved him. Any extra donations will go to Jeff's favorite
charity, Bird Gardens of Naples bird rescue.
We also invite all of you who loved Jeff to join us on July 20th at the
American Legion Post 82 1305 Riverview Drive in Endicott, NY for a
celebration of Jeff's life from 1 - 5pm.
Thank you all for loving our Jeff and thank you for any help you can
provide.
