Help Sharon Record Some Great Music

June 3rd, is my birthday! I am grateful to be here. I am thankful to see the beginning of this new day – this new season. I woke up today sure of one thing and that’s my love of music. I’m sure I want to sing!  I am so blessed I know what gives me joy and that is singing! I know music is my passion and my purpose.   At every important crossroads of my life, it has been music that has been my guide, my heart’s song, my saving grace.This birthday, I awoke with the clarity of moving forward to record. I not only want to sing, I need to sing.  No matter how hard I reject the notion, music is ministerial for me. God knows I have tried to NOT be that person. But here I am. I believe in the power of music for all people. I believe music brings peace. I believe music holds the possibilities for change, opening the doors to “the conversations” we must have.  Through the musical lens ... I love ... I pray ... I see.

After most performances inevitably someone will ask where they can get a recording. I am armed with talent and access to incredible musicians, However, I have no real portfolio of my work. I would like to change that.

What I lack is the financing needed.

I have for the most part been quite resilient in making things happen artistically. For instance, when mounting the California production of “Just As I Am”.  Although I asked, I did not receive the help I needed.  So I packed up my thirteen year old SUV gathered costumes, wigs, shoes and props - took a deep breath and drove, alone, across country.  Once there God smiled. The theater was more than I could have asked for; supportive, open and together we had a phenomenal and blessed show, with standing ovations each and every performance.

So, on this birthday, I come to you asking you to partner with me.

With a “Happy Birthday Sharon” spirit, please make a donation to assist getting a recording completed. My intentions are to record some new and old favorites (I’m open to fan suggestions), some cuts from the music of “Just As I Am” AND some jazzy gospel/inspirational.

I come to you, enthusiastically. Because California was successful, I know this recording project can also succeed with your help. By the way, I have a name for this project, but I’m keeping it under wraps.

I’m going to set the GoFundMe goal low so I have better chance to collect what I raise.

 An acquaintance recently raised $6 million for his theater. I really don’t want THAT much or even close to it.  Most of you are actors, singers, musicians, sound, lighting, costumers and stage managers. I want to compensate (you) all involved and not just asking for the family rate! I have extremely talented friends and hope to involve as many as possible!

I want the project to be part studio and part live recording. The live recording will be at venues in St. Petersburg, FL.   Using material from the live recordings and the studio recordings, after which, I’ll be able to have a project release.   

As per incentives:

(1) Donations of $20.00 will reserve a copy of the recording

(2) Donations of $50.00 will receive an autographed copy of the recording and cover art poster
 
(3) With a donation of $100.00, the first 150, will receive an invitation to the live show recording concert and both an autographed copy of recording and cover art poster

(4) A donation of $500.00 or more will get you entrance to the live concert, an autographed copy of both cover art and the recording and in addition, if you desire, angel status listed on the cover.
