He has had no significant recovery since he was paralyzed.
Isaiah spends his time mostly at home. With the exception he does attend church, goes to doctors appointments, violin lessons and occassionally visits his older brother who was married over the summer.
With all of his siblings gone during the day he tends to find himself bored quite often.
Currently Isaiah does not have any pressing needs. He is doing well currently.
Thank you very much for your continued prayers for him and for all of the financial support that has been given to him since his injury.
Isaiah's only upcoming appointment currently is a follow-up appointment to the Shepherd's Center in a few weeks.
A recap of his recent hospitalizations, he was in the hospital Dec 18-Jan 2 in Atlanta, then the entire month of Feb he was in the hospital in Atlanta. Then he was in the hospital in March for one week, then again in April for a week *he was released in time for his birthday, he skipped being in the hospital in May,but then came June and he was in ICU, for a week, he was released just in time for an appointment in Atlanta, he was then admitted to the hospital in Atlanta for a week (so he was in the hospital two weeks in June.) Then he skipped July but was admitted to the hospital in August for a week, it's now almost the end of Sept, so far he's managed to not need to be admitted to the hospital this month.
He's been admitted for sepsis, flap surgery, c-diff, renal failure, and several other things.
At the moment we have mounting medical bills (our insurance does not pay everything, and he's not on medicaid, he was for a short time, but then the disability office decided he wasn't really disabled enough or something. (this is under appeal because he is disabled and has been on bed rest since Nov, he's only the last few weeks been able to be up a little longer. )
Isaiah will be going back to the hospital to have more surgery, and will be in the hospital from six to eight weeks depending on how well he does afterward.
Isaiah currently needs new tires for his wheelchair and a new seat cushion cover. And his brakes and casters checked, I have not been able to get Numotion out to do anything. So we may need to find a new DME company. Meanwhile I'm thinking I'd just like to buy him a new chair, because maybe that'd be easier? I'm not sure. Reguardless. he does need new tires.
If you would like to donate towards any of Isaiah's expenses this account is for his needs and the mounting medical bills.
The medical bills are extremely high and mounting, the insurance has paid some things but not everything,
Thank you very much for sharing and caring.
This past year Isaiah has been dealing with extreme medical issues. He's had several UTI's, a bone infection, an acute kidney injury, acute renal failure, a muscle flap surgery, and bed rest since Nov.
Isaiah has been in the hospital multiple times, Dec18-Jan2, all of Feb, a week in March, April, and August, two weeks in June, and will be going back to the hospital for more surgery in the next few weeks.
I am raising money to pay the outstanding medical bills, insurance has paid on some things but it does not cover everything.
I am also raising money because once he's off of the sand-bed he needs a new bed, *I have a bedframe,, but he's going to need a new mattress and box spring. He will also need a high quality mattress cover, the ones we've bought previously haven't worked well, so I would like to buy a more durable one to help protect the mattress.
I am also raising money to help pay travel expenses to and from the hospitals.
I am also trying to get a new padded shower bench for him, and new tires for his wheelchair, and another seat cushion cover.
If you would like to help with any of his expenses, you can do that
through this account.
And thank you very much in advance.
Also please continue to pray for functional recovery. Complete
recovery would be my preference but God doesn't always comply with our preferences, I am still struggling to accept the day to day every day things that go with SCI.
Thank you again for your support.
One year ago, Isaiah's dad broke his neck, this resulted in surgery to stabilize the vertebra in his neck (he was very fortunate in that he was not paralyzed, especially as he broke his neck at C6.) He has not been able to return to work.
If you are able to help with some of the increased expenses thank you very much. Isaiah's medical expenses are not completely covered by the insurance he has. One bill he has now that is not covered is over a hundred thousand dollars. We also have a daily current charge for the medical supplies and equipment he's currently using.
If you would like to help with any of these expenses you can. And thank you very much in advance.
This has resulted in the need for him to stay two nights in Atlanta.
Please pray for God's provision of a reasonable rate for a hotel room.
Also for a safe trip there and back.
