Medtronic Insulin Pump

Donation protected
Lindsey was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of sixteen. She found out about her life changing illness three days before prom and two days before trying out for her drivers license. It was a very emotional time for her and for the rest of our family. She powered through with a lot of tears and got it under control enough for her to get to go to prom and nailing her drivers test! But what a whirl wind of emotions and learning how to deal with carbs and insulin shots and a lot of finger pricking. She did awesome and they moved her to an insulin  pump rather quickly because she was so eager to stop taking shots in her stomach for her insulin. Much to our dismay, insurance does not cover most of her diabetic supplies. We scrounged and scraped together enough money to buy the pump. An insulin pump averages about $5,000! that is a lot of money. Unfortunately, the pump is out of warranty and needs to be replace due to a burn mark that is forming on the pump. We do not have the funds this time to purchase another $5,000 pump. That is why I am asking for help raising money so she does not have to go back to giving herself shots in her stomach. She has worked so hard overcoming so many obstacles in her life. She just needs to catch a break. Our family barely makes it by on what little we make. So a medical purchase like this is way out of our means. Lindsey is one of the sweetest, loving, and hard working people I know. I would just like to take this burden away from her and get her this new pump so she can have an easier time managing her diabetes. It is a tough illness. I just want to make it a little better for her.
