Peanut's IVDD Back Surgery

Little Miss Peanut is a long haired mini wiener dog. She is 4 years old and she's turning 5 on May 11th. She's an extremely happy, energetic and loving dog, she's also a bit of a daredevil. Over the past couple of weeks, Peanut has been in pain and on strict bedrest. She has not been allowed to go up or down stairs, jump on or off our beds, etc. This is because her spine has become compressed, causing her severe pain. On Easter Sunday, April 16th, Peanut lost the ability to move her back legs and use the restroom. We rushed her to an emergency animal hospital where they informed us she would need immediate back surgery because she had ruptured a disk between C7 and T1 on her spine. This is known as Intervertebral Disc Disease. Without this surgery Peanut would surely have become completely paralyzed and would need to be put down. Peanut has received the surgery and is now recovering. The doctor says she's expected to make a full recovery! However, we are now dealing with the unexpected cost of the surgery.
