3 Kitties Need Your Help

My husband and I rescue and care for special-needs and senior kitties. We give our cats the best medical care, pay for everything ourselves, and rarely ask for help.

We've gotten into a financial bind because two of our cats -- Jasper and Peridot -- needed surgeries last week (which cost over $4100), and a third cat, Mickey, has had ongoing medical issues (skin biopsies and now he's diabetic). In addition, Jasper will need all his teeth removed in the very near future.

Peridot, who we've raised from kitten hood (when we fostered her and her 5 siblings), had a 3 cm mass on her back, which had to be removed. Fortunately, it was a fatty cyst and not cancer, but it kept oozing and getting larger, so it had to be surgically removed.

Jasper, also 12 yrs old (who we've had since he was a tiny kitten that our neighbor found on the street), had a large, red mass in his mouth which I feared was cancer. I immediately took him to a veterinary oral surgeon, who removed the mass and biopsied it. Fortunately, the mass wasn't cancerous -- it was caused by inflammation and infection from Jasper's teeth. All of Jasper's teeth will need to her removed in about a month so that the mass doesn't return. This will cost about $2800.




Then, there's sweet Mickey, a younger cat who just came to us in November 2015. I took Mickey from an 85-yr-old woman who was going in for surgery the next day. Her granddaughter had rescued Mickey in Chester, PA, after his family moved away and abandoned him. Mickey had sores on his legs that the vet biopsied and found to be scar tissue from possible earlier burns (who knows what happened to him before he was rescued?). We were treating the skin sores with antibiotics and prednisone. Then Mickey developed diabetes. He is now on Lantus, which costs $310 per vial. We have another diabetic cat who also gets Lantus.

We really need help so that we can continue to help our kitties and pay these bills. The cats, my husband, and I would greatly appreciate any donation that you can spare. If you are unable to donate, please share our story.
