Houston Flooding

My name is Jenna, i am from Kearney Nebraska and as Im sure, almost everyone has heard of or seen images from the catastrophic weather events taking place in the state of Texas, my brother ZACH, sister-in-law SAMANTHA, 7 year old niece LUA,  4 year old nephew PARKER, and fur-baby niece PRESELY(chihuahua) were all home saturday night (8/26) when the floods started to happen. Slowly water seeped in but was managable. By sunday morning alot of water was getting into their home, splitting the living room floor and it became apparent there was no keeping it out and it was not going to be endurable. The streets filled up to stop signs, toppling over cars. They made it threw the deep waters to a neighbors where they waited for boats that never made it, all the wonderful help spent many hours rescuing whomever they could reach, luckily they were not as bad off as many others waiting on rooftops and were able to reach low waters and venture on until making it  to an elementary school. The school was not an official shelter but police officers broke in and let people in to make shelter. People started to arrive from homes and nursing homes, elderly and children. When leaving their home they left behind everything they own, knowing it is all a devastating loss. Their home renters insurance has found loop holes in the policy and has already denied any sort of claim they have attempted to file. They are together and they fortunately are alive, all of our hearts break for everyone else in this catastrophy, especially those who lost loved ones. They are currently waiting in the school for red cross or any other help to evacuate them to more permanent shelters in the Dallas area, we were informed today that the shelters are beyond capacity leaving them with very little options other than continuing to sleep on floors for what they are being told are weeks to come. we are hoping they will be evacuated soon so we can get to them and bring them back to nebraska until they are able to return to get inside their home. They have seen and experienced alot and the hurt of losing everything is something I am hoping myself and others can help with to help them start to rebuild, the amounts we are raising are to go to any material items needing replaced immediatley and travel expenses(carseats, food, travel to and from nebraska to try to salvage items, insurances, payments on bills that will go on even through these events) in the next few weeks. All other money raised beyond filling necessities and shelter will be donated on to others in the same heart breaking situation.
