This wonderful woman watched a tv program that mentioned “share your spare” , a national program to kidney donation!
after 35 years of teaching special ED, this retired teacher felt compelled to do even more!!! A mother of 3 and grandmother of 4 decided that her life needed more. She contacted the Cleveland clinic, spent a cumulative 7 days of tests to make sure she was healthy enough to give the gift of life to a stranger!!!
we have traveled to Cleveland clinic and finished up the last barrier to be selected to donate altruistically. That mean who ever has the greatest need first and has a match!!
she may never know who’s life she saved but that doesn’t matter to Jean. She always ready to help anyone in need!
the average wait time for a recipient is around 5 years, and approximately 3000 people waiting for a life saving kidney. There are only about 300 special people that take the time energy and love to do their part. Jean is one of those special people!!!

there are personal costs involved with travel and staying out of town. We ask for you to donate to the go fund me page to help with some of these costs. Any money raised above our goal will be donated directly to the “Share your spare” program.
