Vet Bills

Donation protected
Late last night Ink, our neighbors' dog, was attacked by another dog while he was in his front yard. Somehow, an aggressive dog got into their fenced in yard and began to attack him relentlessly. It took Ink's owners, some shovel wielding neighbors and finally the police to rescue him. For those of us who witnessed it, it was a terrible event. However, when Ink's owners brought him to the emergency vet around midnight last night, the cost of care was too much to bear. Something I think we can all relate to. Normal well checkups at the vet always leave us in shock, so I can't imagine having to deal with this.Unfortunately, Ink's family was forced to go home with him and treat him at home, even though the vet said he needed surgery on one of the deep cuts on his front legs. We have called around to some charities, non-profits and dog rescues. But we found that most organizations were grossly underfunded, took up to a month to get funds for treatment and would only cover a small portion of the treatment. But Ink needs treatment sooner rather than later. The vet estimated that the cost of treatment would be up to $1500. Any small amount will help. This family is in need. Please feel free to share.
