Help Rachael Rock Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Greetings. My name is Rachael Rodriquez and this is my story. I just celebrated my 47th birthday last June. This is my 13th year living in San Diego with my boyfriend and my 3 dogs. Most of my family is still in Eastern Washington. Right before Thanksgiving I found out through a routine mammogram that I have breast cancer. After several doctors visits, specialists and grueling tests it was decided a lumpectomy was necessary. So my surgery was in January. It was a long day but successful. My sister Rosie flew down to help. She stayed 10 days and was amazing emotional support. During her stay we met with the pathologist and found out a second surgery is necessary to recover more breast tissue. The cancer was bigger than first diagnosed. Not only was this devastating news since it was so scary the first time and I never want to be there again, but I'm worried about the extended time away from work and doubling my medical expenses. Even with insurance I have my premiums, deductibles, co-pays, living expenses, etc. still accumulating. So I'm still in recovery and trying to mentally prepare for my second surgery on February 21st. Most likely my sister will fly to San Diego to help out again. Hopefully this will be the final surgery and I can begin my radiation treatments sometime in April. At this point, I just want to get it done and start moving forward. Cancer free forever!! So far this has been a very enlightening experience. I have been blessed with prayers, gifts, hugs, and much love. I am very grateful for all of my Family & Friends. Thank you.
