Hello Everyone!
This is Nathnael Feleke a/k/a Nate, an international student from Ethiopia who graduated this year from Foxcroft Academy. Nate was a great addition to our school and an exemplary role model. In only eighteen months, he managed to be elected senior class president, Key Club president, and the president of the Student Council. He worked hard balancing each of these roles to improve conditions in the school and community while amassing over 430 hours of community service. He maintained a 3.97 GPA while taking rigorous AP classes. Nate also participated in theater, sports, the Math and Tech teams, the Spanish club, and was a dormitory proctor and library aide. He was also inducted to the National Honor Society. Most importantly, he was a good friend to all while juggling his many responsibilities.
Despite glowing recommendations, an excellent academic record and a myriad of extracurricular activities, the financial aid that Nate was granted fell far short of his needs. As such, he is in danger of not attending college, which would be a real travesty. His family’s financial situation is dire! His mother has been the sole support of his family since his father lost his job, and his family had to sell their home to fund his older sister’s education. I have not met a student who is more deserving of assistance. Nate’s goal is to become a doctor, and, given the chance, I am certain that he will be a kind, caring and compassionate physician
So, could you make a donation to help him out? Our family is committed to helping Nate out for the next four years. As an international student, he must pay “out of state” tuition, and at the school he plans to attend, Elmira College, he is responsible for $22,000 (and that is after a nice scholarship). Any amount will be gratefully appreciated and a wise investment into a bright future. I can guarantee that Nate will be the kind of person who will pay it forward!
