Turn 2017 Around For The Chapins

Josh and Sam got married August 20, 2016 combining their family of three young children: Aspyn {age 7}, Rowan {age 7}, and Sullivan (Sully) {age 5}. 2016 wasn't gracious to Josh and Sam either as they both lost jobs, got laid off, had hours cut and ended up digging themselves further into debt than they had ever been before just to keep necessities in their home and to try to provide their children with the simple but comfortable lifestyles they were accustomed to. To Josh and Sam those three little kids come first, always. They are also the epitome of cat people and animal lovers and have a 100 pound Samoyed dog who obviously has quite the appetite. Right after New Year's Sam came down with a terrible case of influenza A that lasted a week and a half and ended with another half week of double ear infections a sinus infection and pneumonia making her recovery time a total of 3 1/2 weeks. She obviously couldn't work during this time. Josh was working a seasonal delivery job for UPS and hadn't had a route for four weeks. The problem with this was he did not know whether he was to work that day until the morning of so it was impossible for him to get another job in the meantime. Two days after Sam finally felt back to herself and was back to work she slipped down her beautiful restored hardwood staircase (that she still loves despite its treachery) and ended up shattering her humerus requiring surgery and a six day hospital stay. We are very lucky that she maintained control over her right wrist as it was a huge risk that she wouldn't and it is both her dominant hand and she is a violinist and other instrument player. (Josh is a drummer-they met in a band- cute story, right?) Besides the obvious, the problem here is that Sam and Josh do not have health insurance. Sam will be out of work for at least two months with her right arm immobilized. Josh is starting a new job this week and Sam has interview coming up soon. They have been hustling and hustling and hustling to make money including selling their belongings and taking as many odd jobs josh can find. What they are asking of anyone who is taking the time to read this long-winded description is that it might inspire you to donate even the smallest amount to help this family get back on their feet after this devastating accident. Even $0.25 counts. They are months behind on all of their bills, getting collection calls constantly, they haven't paid rent for January yet and February is due in a couple of days. ------Their hospital bills alone are estimated to be around $150,000. ------Sam, especially, is a proud person who has a difficult time asking for help. But understands desperate times call for desperate measures. The money we make here from your generosity will go towards catching us up on bills, specifically rent.
We send love and good vibes to all who even took the time to read this. We know that all that really matters is that we are still so lucky to have each of our beautiful children.
