For VictimsOf Childhood Sexual Abuse

I was sexually abused for 2 years from the age of 11. I didn't speak up about the abuse until I was 25. There were numerous young girls who were being abused by the same man during those 2 years. Only 4 of- what I would guess 10- girls came forward. As my sister was also a victim, and in fact was the one who started the class action, I was questioned by the police and asked to make a statement. I lied on my statement and claimed that I wasn't being abused; I didn't want my mum to know that both her daughters had lived this experience; I was scared that everyone would find out and think bad of me, plus I had survived 14 years of silence and it wasn't so bad, so why come forward now and upset everyone? There was a major life-altering decision that had to be made. Something told me; a quiet, inner verbal prompting- "Tahlia, you either tell the truth now and be freed from the silence, or keep this quiet for the rest of your life knowing that it will eventually kill you." The day before the committal hearing, I changed my statement and told the truth.
And THAT was the moment I started to access my power.

We are creating an online platform for young survivours of childhood sex abuse.  A safe, supportive and inspiring online space where young people aged 10-20 can share their STORY and listen to others who have/are enduring abuse. They will gain SUPPORT through mainstream and holistic avenues, and tap into free SELF-CARE resources, which are specifically tailored to bring about radical shifts in mind, body & spirit. Young people join the "members only"gated-community to begin and/or continue their healing journey.

This project is not about the perpetrator. It isn't about revenge, nor has it anything to do with going to the police and starting a legal investigation.
It's about power, freedom and full self-expression.

You may know someone; a friend, family member, work colleague, you yourself may even be a survivor.
This project is a tribute to the silent 11 year old in all of us.
