Bethany Charter School fifth and sixth grade teacher Douglas Bonham died in a car accident near Molalla Friday night, March 4, 2016.
With his wife Megan and their two children, Ayden and McKayla, Doug moved to Silverton, Ore., in 2010. The Bonhams then opened the first iteration of their small business, Silverton Gymnastics, in 2011.
After several years of breaking even despite consistent growth, Doug and Megan were so busy with the business and Doug's full-time position at Bethany that they hardly had any time to spend with each other or anybody else.
Recently, Doug and Megan had made a plan. To create more time for family, they would shut down the gymnastics business, which would allow Megan to be home. Tragically, God had other plans for Doug.
Now Megan and the kids are left reeling from the death of their patriarch, and have no means to make do in the immediate future.
Doug's family has decided to reach out and ask for assistance on the Bonham's behalf.
Their current mortgage debt is $205,000. Any and all donations will be tremendously appreciated at this time.
Doug was an incredible man and a fixture within the Silverton community. If all you're able to offer are your fond memories and well wishes, please visit travisloose.com/2016/03/06/well-miss-you-doug/#more-934 where we're collecting tributes to Doug's life. Likewise, any and all comments are welcomed and appreciated.

Yesterday, we celebrated Ayden and Mckayla's (Doug's children) birthdays. As hard as we tried, we still could not compensate for Doug not being there. I kept waiting for him to just show up. Something was missing. The light Douglas brought with his presence simply cannot be duplicated. Thank you for all the support that has continued to lift Megan up from the ashes of this terrible loss. The financial gifts have been a life saver, but it is the support and the little acts of kindness that we could not live without.

Thank You for all your support! The past month has been very challenging as we all learn to continue through life without Doug. I am unable to find the right words to express our gratitude for the overwhelming amount of care and concern that we have received from everyone. My brothers light has not been extinguished; your generosity is exactly what he believed in, and one day we hope to pay it forward again--just as Doug would have.

Doug was a wonderful son. We can not express the gratitude to all who have donated to our daughter in law Megan Bonham's campaign to keep her home. God bless your generosity.

I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Please know that he was an amazing teacher that re-ignited my son Colton's desire to attend school after bad experiences in 3rd and 4th nearly demolished him emotionally. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
