On Tuesday January 3, 2017 at approximately 11:50am our Dad, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Coworker, and Friend sadly lost his battle with a rare fungus infection called Mucormycosis it is found in rare cases with High Diabetes levels. My dad lost his vision the Monday before thanksgiving and a week later he was transferred to UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital where they found out about this disease but it was to late at the other hospital he was at they never checked in his mouth and they treated him for another disease that he didn't have which made the Fungal infection grow uncontrollably. This disease was so rare that unfortunately there was no cure at all it had spread all over his face close to his brain. My dad told the doctors that there books where wrong that he was strong and he was going to get better even till today his last day! The doctors said the infection was so severe he would never see again and he would bleed to death. My dad was so strong he said they were wrong and today he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

My dad was loved and was the nicest person he would put everyone before him. He loved to be outdoors whether it was going on walks, cutting the grass and volunteering on his spare time at Habitat for Humanity which he was a owner of a house as well he wanted other people to have homes like his. He love his walks he said walks were good for his heart and he had a GREAT heart. My family and I are heartbroken with this sudden loss and now we are reaching out for help with his service. We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for keeping our dad in yours prayers and for coming to visit him on his last days that made him so Happy to see all the people that care for him! We will also keep everyone updated as we know more.
