Hi all-

On August 8th my roommate Andrea adopted the most adorable, perfect kitty, Mr. Kitten. He has been the most loving, sweet, and playful kitten and everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He had a very unfortunate, accidental encounter with a dog on Wednesday afternoon and he desperately needs our help. Luckily, he is a very strong kitty and he survived but he has a very large laceration on his right hip, a hernia, and a few other more (hopefully) minor wounds. The laceration is so large that he will need reconstructive surgery to try to repair the missing patch of skin on his hip. It's in a location that is very susceptible to infection (right near his rectum) and without this surgery, it would be unable to heal properly and could put him at severe risk. He also will need surgery to repair the tear in his abdomen to fix the hernia. He will need to be taken into the vet everyday for a few weeks to get his bandages changed because they are sutured in. The costs of vet visits, x-rays, medications, bandage changes, and surgeries are going to be around $5,000. He's scheduled to have both surgeries on Monday morning. No pet owner ever anticipates such a horrific occurrence. We love our little man and want to do everything we can to help him. As you all can imagine, my sweet roommate is going through a lot of emotional stress and trauma so we would like to try to alleviate the financial burden to any extent possible. Anything you could give would be helpful; money, prayers, positive thoughts, we appreciate it all so much.
