Jackie's Home!

In February 2015 Jackie had a major COPD attack. She was code blue and revived, but after was intubated and in an induced coma for 2 weeks. When she woke up, she was in the hospital with no ability to move at all, or walk.  She had lost all muscle control of her body.  As she started to recover, the doctor made it quite clear she was at the end stages of COPD and the next attack she would not survive. She was determined not be in a nursing home with her mind alert and no movement. After weeks in the hospital she was moved to a rehab. Through rehab she started working to get oxygen and movement back in her body. They released her but with Hospice involved and told she had 6 months or less to live.

Through her research she discovered the importance of good nutrition how important it is to eat right.  Jackie started flooding her body with Juice Plus+ and the equivalent to 60 servings of veg, fruits and berries a day.  I truly believe her strong nutritional foundation helped her just get through another crisis this past Christmas Holiday of 13 days of 24x7 crisis care!  Jackie is still on Hospice, 24/7 oxygen line, BPAP machine at night and breathing treatments every four hours. She keeps persevering in spite of every obstacle that comes her way!

Part of Jackie’s mental health and healing, is her 1982 old trailer which she has made it feel and look like a cottage in Maine, while living in FL.  She has neighbors, sister and people in her retirement community who are always there for love and support and of course her kitty Gus!  With her being on hospice and disability, her income is so limited and when things need repair there are not enough dollars in the month to save for those cases.  This is the case now.  Her little place requires a new vapor barrier and insulation underneath. She has received inspections and estimates from 3 reputable companies. If she does not get this work done she would be FORCED to move because of possible, mold build up. Her home is so therapeutic and she loves spending time in her flower gardens and growing her own food in her Tower Garden. I truly believe with all my heart, if my friend doesn’t get these repairs I believe her health, attitude and life would go with it.

Jackie has fought so hard to defy what the doctors told her 2 years ago!  I am not giving up on her and she isn’t giving up on her!  So if you could find it in your heart to contribute anything to help pay for the costs I know that not only Jackie would be so appreciative, I would be too!
