Please Help my Mom & Dad

Donation protected
My name is Bekka and I want to start a campaign to help my parents with financial struggles they may face during this time while my Father heals.

This is not an easy thing.  Nor did we ever imagine we would have to consider this platform for help, but life throws a curve ball and you simply adapt and change your day to day to help the ones you love the most. I did not want to post a picture because nothing will give justice to hardship this has posed to my family, but that one was the best I could do..

The story goes like this, I came over on a typical day and wanted to visit my parents. My father however, was acting rather spacey and complaining about lower back pain. An hour or so passes by and he begins to lay down on his bed to sleep off what he believes to be a hypoglycemic episode. I continue chatting with my mother at the dining table letting him rest. At this stage I am getting ready to say my goodbyes and I start at my brother's room. Suddenly, my Mom hears a loud "thump", casually assuming maybe my father has gotten up to perhaps use the restroom.

When she enters their room, she finds him on the floor stiff as a board. No door was shut, the "thump" was him falling off the bed because he was having a seizure.  She yells out for my brother and I to come help her. "Call the ambulance! He's barely breathing!" she says. We are doing everything we can to keep him breathing. Thank God my mother is also in the medical field and had a rough idea on what to do. My brother is telling him to breathe and he is listening. Once the ambulance finally arrived with the first responders and the EMT, they rushed him to the hospital. Needless to say, we were all startled at everything that was happening. But at least that episode had ended for the night.

Now something you need to know about my Dad is that he is a Registered Nurse, and he worked hard to get there. As a rule, he is a healthy individual who only wants the best for his family and to provide financial stability.  He loves to help our other family members like his own father with whatever he can around their house and improve things around his own home. He is active. My Mother and Father love going out to ride bikes together, go on trails, traveling to somewhere new any chance they get.

They are God-fearing people who know coincidences like these do not simply happen. We know that God has something up His sleeve and we are constantly in prayer for healing, patience, and wisdom for what is next on this road to recovery.

In that same breath, he is homebound for six months. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the seizure, medication, and Florida law, he cannot be left alone because he is considered "fall risk". That means my mother cannot work now. Although as a family of course we will help in whatever way we can financially, it will not be enough for everything they need.  Any other assistance we have looked into will take too much time for what needs immediate attention (TAF, SSI, Disability, etc...).

As of right now, we are awaiting his healing from a kyphoplasty procedure that he received for his lower back pain. He will be getting an operation to remove the small lesion that developed in  his brain behind his right eye that (as far as we know) caused the seizure to happen. It came out negative for cancer thank God.

The urgency with help is very real considering time waits for no one and moves on with or without you. Please consider this plea as time sensitive. The sooner we can all help the better.

If we can come together and raise this amount for my family, it will go to:

-Mortgage
-Medical bills
-Health insurance

As brothers and sisters, we all can use a little help once in a while and may find ourselves in a position where we have the means to make a difference in someone's life who may be walking through a valley. Please, join me and my family in helping my father on this road to recovery so that he may return to work and help nurse others back to health once again.

Thank you for reading our story.
